I’ve always been a storyteller.

I got my first camera when I was eight and I started writing adventure stories when I was in elementary school. While studying at UNC, I found my home in the basement of Carroll Hall, where I perfected my photojournalism skills. From local North Carolina newspapers, to The Wall Street Journal, to New York University, my career has taken me all over the globe to tell stories in newsprint, on news websites, and on social media.

During my time contracting and working full-time with She’s the First—a global nonprofit that fights for girls’ rights to be educated, respected, and heard—I discovered the power and diversity of education stories. I was hooked. I loved spending four years telling stories at New York University, where I simultaneously earned my master’s degree in Digital Advocacy and Brand Communication.

I’m currently based in Carrboro, NC, and am available for freelance work. View my portfolio of nonprofit work here.
